What is AODA?
The Accessibility for Ontarians with
Disabilities Act (AODA) is an Ontario legislation which compels the enterprises to follow
the accessibility standards across all sectors, including websites. It makes sure that
information and services are accessible to people with disabilities.
AODA was passed in 2005, with its implementation
plan separated into phases and various deadlines for different standards. These standards
cover various aspects of accessibility, including the following:
